1. You will not marry during the term of your contract.

2. You are not to keep company with men.

3. You must be home between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless attending a school function.

4. You may not loiter downtown in ice cream stores.

5. You may not travel beyond city limits unless you have the permission of the chairman of the board.

6. You may not ride in a carriage or automobile with any man unless he is your father or brother.

7. You may not smoke cigarettes.

8. You may not dress in bright colors.

9. You may under no circumstances dye your hair.

10. You must wear at least two petticoats.

11. Your dresses must not be any shorter than two inches above the ankle.

12. To keep the school room neat and clean, you must:

*sweep the floor at least once daily
*scrub the floor at least once a week with hot, soapy water
*clean the blackboards at least once a day
*start the fire at 7 a.m. so the room will be warm by 8 a.m.

I don't think I would have never made it as a teacher for reasons:

1. Well marriage is a tough one maybe yes maybe no

2. Impossible, I like men to much..hehe

3. Kind of reasonable but I'd think I would be out whooping it up with a male companion.

4. Well, I'm generally not keen on icecream, so I'll by that one.

5. I'd probably be taking the chairman with me beyond the city limits for some illicit fun..

6. I don't have a brother, and dad..well no just don't bye that one.

7. I smoke cigarettes

8. I love my dark hues, but couldn't give up my reds and oranges.

9. How else am I going to hide my age...hehe

10. Have never owed a petticoat, and even if I did I certainly wouldn't wear two!!!

11. I don't think I own one that is longer than knee lenght...hehe

12. I am domestically challenged.

2. whoops, guess i wont have to go to those pesky staff meetings then since there are a lot of male teachers.

12. To keep the school room neat and clean, you must: Make a roster so all the kids have to help u clean the room and u end up doing nothing. This ones a lifesaver!

All in all im glad im not using my teaching degree at the moment cos its hard enuf teaching today, id be screwed under these rules! Id also be booted out of the profession cos im a loose, dyed hair, colourful underwear wearing harlot!! Hooray!!
